From Mauritius to Lille: a new beginning at ISCOM
My name is Mélanie Park and I joined ISCOM Lille in my first year. Before starting studies in communication, I took a gap year to reflect. It was during internships in event management that I had a real turning point: I loved this field and decided to pursue this path.
It was through a contact at ISCOM Lyon that I discovered My French Degree. After researching it, I knew this program perfectly matched my profile. I grew up between France and Mauritius, where I completed my secondary education. Returning to the French system was made easier thanks to personalized support.

I had some concerns about leaving Mauritius, where everyone knows each other, but at ISCOM Lille, I was very warmly welcomed. I quickly found my bearings and met great people. By joining the Sports Office (BDS), I combined my passion for sports with my desire to get involved in student life.

What I appreciate about ISCOM is the school’s dynamic environment: there are always ongoing projects, inspiring guest speakers, and immersion weeks. It’s a stimulating environment where you learn as much through experience as through classes.
I sincerely recommend all international students to take the leap. Dare to discover new horizons and trust My French Degree to support you, as it did for me. If I had to sum up my first two months in Lille in one word, it would be: “surprising”. I did not expect to adapt so quickly or to feel so comfortable here.
